Here at Clarke Quay, sits the 10th store of Ramen Keisuke chain of restaurant, known as Ramen Keisuke Lobster King.

From the name, Lobster King, you could simply tell that the specialty of this store is its Lobster Broth ramen. All of these soup bases have distinct flavours and a lingering after-taste of lobster. Hence, delighting diners with a savoury wholesome meal, especially if you are a lobster fan.

Apart from the wide selection of amen, another highlight that will capture diners’ attention will be its free flow of boiled eggs and bean sprouts, within reach at almost all tables for diners to enjoy with their bowl of ramen. Lobster Broth Ramen - Rich Soup ($14.90)

Spicy Miso Lobster Broth Ramen with Flavoured Egg ($16.90)

We tried the Lobster Broth Ramen (Rich Soup) and Spicy Miso Lobster Broth Ramen with Flavoured Egg. Be prepared to be greeted by the strong aroma from the lobster broth when your personal bowl of ramen is served. The ingredients for these two bowls were quite similar, consisting of slices of tender pork belly, black fungus and chewy bamboo shoots. We felt that the ramen exceeded our expectations as the first sip of the broth has enabled us to taste the well-balanced flavours of individual ingredients such as the creaminess of the miso on top of the strong lobster broth.

The difference between the rich lobster broth and spicy miso lobster broth may not the broth itself, but also the type of ramen served in it. Ramen served in the rich lobster broth was the round-shaped ramen, as compared to the flatter ramen in the spicy miso lobster broth. Both types of ramen have its own texture and blended well with the broth. However, we still prefered the round-shaped ramen as it was more bouncy.

The spicy miso lobster broth ramen may be slightly more intense for diners with low preferences for chilli. Yet, despite its overwhelming taste, the broth did maintained its ability to deliver the richness of the miso as promised. The ramen was cooked to al dente and was simply made easy for slurping at one go. With such winning formula and the store’s secret in preparation of its broth, it will be such a waste not to finish such a sensation to the very last drop.
